Procedures

1. Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty, also called nose surgery, reshapes the nose by reducing or increasing the size, removing a hump, changing the shape of the tip or bridge, narrowing the span of the nostrils, or changing the angle between the nose and upper lip. This procedure may also relieve some breathing difficulties when combined with surgery performed on the nasal septum.

Nose surgeries are typically performed using one of two general surgical styles: the open technique or the closed technique. Both involve incisions made inside the nostrils, but the open technique makes a second incision in the fleshy skin between the nostrils, thereby opening the nose completely. Choosing one technique over the other is usually a matter of complexity, as well as the specific goal the surgeon is trying to achieve.

Piezo Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty?

Piezo ultrasonic rhinoplasty is a modern technique that modifies the internal structures of the nose without harming surrounding skin and soft tissue. It utilizes a Piezotome, which is a specialized instrument that transmits ultrasonic waves directly to the bone to reshape the nose.

This form of rhinoplasty doesn’t require a hammer and chisel which are a more forceful method of reshaping the nose and can fracture the bone. With the Piezo rhinoplasty technique, ultrasound energy is transmitted specifically to the bone, and sculpting tools are then used to reshape the bone. Piezo rhinoplasty can treat a crooked nose, disproportionate asymmetry, a hump on the nasal bridge, an overly large or wide nose, and other concerns.

Process

The operation normally takes 1-2 hours and can be done under general or local anaesthesia, though for complex procedures it’s usually recommended that the patient be completely unconscious. In most cases, the skin is separated and adjustments are made to the bone and cartilage.  Bones may be broken or chiseled depending on the patient's desired result. Cartilage may be trimmed, too. The nasal passages are then packed and an external splint is applied. In most cases, the packs are removed after 24 hours, but the splint is usually worn for about a week.

2. Face Lift

When time starts to show its effects on the face and neck as in the whole body, loss of elasticity in the skin begins.

Fat packages, one of the indicators of youth on the face, begin to melt and shift. The resistance and balance on the facial floor due to bone resorption deteriorate and the face gradually sags downwards by succumbing to gravity. This sagging may occur at different ages depending on the life, environment and genetic structure of each person.

In general, after the 30s and 40s, the disappearance of the jawline, the prominence of the food in the neck, the formation of the cheeks we call bulldog cheeks or jawline cheeks, and the sagging of the skin become increasingly evident.

Here, the operation in which the tissues that show signs of ageing on the face are moved to their old places is 'Facelift Surgery.

When people look in the mirror after these ages, they are unhappy when they see themselves as older than the age they feel. For this reason, facelift surgery is not only visual but also an operation that affects people's psychology.

There is no age limit for facelift surgery. It is the most definitive solution that removes sagging on the face. From time to time, it can be combined with neck lift, eyelid blepharoplasty and brow lift surgeries.

Advantages of deep plain surgery over classical facelifts:

  • In classical facelifts, there is no benefit for the middle cheek section and nasolabial fold problems. In deep plain surgery, problems in these areas are also eliminated

  • Since the SMAS layer is moved to the background as a block with the cheek, there is a more natural appearance (no wind-blow face).

  • Since the stretched layer is deeper, the load on the skin is reduced and the skin healing is fast and the possibility of scarring is low.

  • In diabetics and smokers, the skin is less likely to be affected.

  • The effect is permanent. Since the substrate and ligaments are separated, the facial condition is calculated as 10-15 years of rejuvenation and the ageing period continues from this point.

  • Bruising and oedema are less, and the healing process is faster.

3. Neck Lift

A neck lift, also known as a lower rhytidectomy, is a cosmetic surgery procedure aimed at improving the appearance of the neck and jawline. As people age, they may develop wrinkles, sagging skin, and fat deposits in the neck area, which can make them look older or heavier than they feel. A neck lift can help to restore a more youthful and defined neckline by removing excess skin, tightening underlying muscles, and removing fat.

Neck lift surgery is typically performed under general anaesthesia and takes several hours to complete. The exact techniques used during the procedure will depend on the individual patient's needs and goals, but may include a combination of the following:

Liposuction: This is the removal of excess fat from the neck using a small tube called a cannula. The fat is suctioned out through small incisions, leaving a smoother and more defined neckline.

Platysmaplasty: This is a procedure to tighten the platysma muscle, which is the broad muscle that runs down the neck. By tightening the muscle, the neck appears more defined and the skin appears smoother.

Skin excision: This involves removing excess skin from the neck to create a tighter, more youthful neckline.

After the surgery, patients will typically experience some swelling and bruising in the neck area. They will need to wear a compression garment to help reduce swelling and support the neck during the healing process. Most patients will be able to return to work and light activities after a few days but should avoid strenuous activity for several weeks.

The results of a neck lift are generally long-lasting, but it is important to note that the aging process will continue and may eventually undo some of the effects of the procedure. To maintain the best results, patients should adopt a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and regular exercise, and protect their skin from the sun.

In conclusion, a neck lift is a safe and effective way to improve the appearance of the neck and jawline. It can help to restore a more youthful and defined neckline, making patients feel more confident and attractive. If you are considering a neck lift, it is important to choose an experienced plastic surgeon and have a through consultation to discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure.
